Happy Mother's Day

In May 2001, I began researching my own childhood for my autobiography, and learned a lot about my biological mother – a woman who as a child was physically abused and whose life consisted of alcoholism and abuse, that ultimately ended with her murder.

On this Mother’s Day, I think of her tragic life, and in doing so, I also think of how God has blessed me and my daughters with their mother; a woman who lives for her two little girls and who for the past 14 years has been a fabulous step-mom to my son.

At a time that life couldn’t seem more difficult for me and my family, I thank God that she is the mother of my daughters and will be there for them.

Happy Mother’s Day Hala... and to mothers all across this country, whose love and guidance, make our children the best they can be.

  1. I was lucky enough to meet you after a lecture you gave several years ago after 911. My daughter a the time was a teenager and leaned over to me and thanked me for bringing her. Her area of interest was international relations. She also stated that evening she wished that more people could have heard that lecture. As a single mom, it made me proud that I had raised a daughter that had a pretty clear understanding of the importance of protecting America and its freedom. Mr. Kerik, you have been instrumental in keeping us safe, through your long career in public service. I wish to thank-you for that.

  3. I had the pleasure of working with Bernard Kerik when he was an undercover in Manhattan North Narcotics. I always remebered when the field team moved in for the apprehension of the drug dealers, Bernie was always watching our backs. He didn't have to do this but he did. What happened to him is inexcusable. In twenty five years in law enforecment I have never seen anything like what the Feds did to Bernie. Bernard Kerik was the first Police Commissioner who new what it was to be a street cop. He was heavely decorated, involved in hundreds of arrests and search warrants and saved the life of another Detective. Truely the most respected and admired Police Commissioner in NEW YORK CITYS history. GOD BLESS BERNARD KERIK AN AMERICAN HEROE!!!!!!!
